Honors 2020 Track Champions at Stage

MECHANICSVILLE, MARYLAND (March 29,
2021) – On Saturday March 27th,
2021, the 2020 Track Champions were
crowned as Maryland International
Raceway ™ (MDIR) held their Awards
Presentation this year at the
Hitchcock Autoworks Stage after the
time trial of the 1320 Fabrication
ET Series race.
 The
three to be introduced at this event
were all from the then named Speed
Unlimited ET Series. 16-year-old
Tyler Sandy of Mechanicsville, MD
was announced as the Hubble
Motorsports Junior Dragster Champion
and received his first championship
trophy. Next, Bobby Mattera of
Waldorf, Maryland was presented his
third career championship, but his
second championship trophy in Mod
ET. His other championship came in
Top ET back in 1991. Christopher
Bishop of Salisbury, Maryland was
then called to the stage to accept
his first championship trophy in Top
ET. Congratulations to all our 2020
ET Series Champions.
MDIR
will also host special ET weekends
with the 1320 Fabrication ET Series
Spring Blowout May 1st – 2nd, King
of the Creek June 3rd – June 6th,
the Pro Challenge/IHRA Sportsman
Spectacular August 20th – 22nd, 1320
Fabrication ET Series Summer Blowout
Weekend September 11th – 12th, and
the 1320 Fabrication ET Series Fall
Blowout October 30th – 31st. Top ET
will run for $5k and Mod ET will run
$2k for boosted purses at the
Atomizer Racing Injector Door Wars
presented by ATI Performance
Products. Top ET will also run for
5k at the 36th Annual Superchargers
Showdown on October 4th – 5th.

MDIR GUIDELINES:
• Events are open to all
spectators, participants,
family, and crew, with a
maximum of 50% facility
capacity.
• All spectators, crew,
staff, and participants must
wear masks.
• Hand washing/sanitizing
must be done on a regular
basis.
• The tower will have
restricted access and will
be limited to essential
staff only.
• The crews will be limited
on the starting line and
front of the staging lanes,
with social distancing
extremely enforced. Our
security staff and starting
line staff will closely
monitor this area to prevent
unauthorized gathering.
• Our restrooms are equipped
with hands free fixtures.
Restrooms will be cleaned,
stocked, and sanitized
throughout the day or
evening. All Pitside
portlets will be moved and
taken out of service.
• Concessions will be open,
and lines will be marked for
proper social distancing.
Concession stand will follow
all guidelines in place for
local food service
businesses.
